Dryophthorus assimilis Gahan, 1900: 116

  • Csiki, E. (1936) treats D. assimilis as a synonym of D. americanus Bedel, but he provides no reference for the synonymy. Further, the type locality of D. assimilis is Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean, which, considering the range of D. americanus is eastern North America, makes the synonymy improbable.
