Name

Dolocerus reichii Mulsant, 1862

Type locality: Italy, "Etrurie".
Holotype: female; leg. Louis Jérôme Reiche; ex collection E. Mulsant, Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris.
Eponymy: in honour of Louis Jérôme Reiche.

Synonyms

Brachypteroma ottomanum Heyden, 1863
- Type locality: Turkey, Europaean Turkey.
- Holotype: female; leg. Dr. Michahelles; ex collection L. von Heyden, Senckenberg Deutsches Entomologisches Institut, Müncheberg.
Molorchus mulsanti Stierlin, 1866
- Type locality: Italy, Sicily.
- Syntypes: male & female; ex collection Wilhelm Gustav Stierlin, Senckenberg Deutsches Entomologisches Institut, Müncheberg.

Note: Bazzato et al., 2017: "Danilevsky (2012) affirmed that the spelling Dolocerus reichii Mulsant, 1862 (as well as the genus Dolocerus) must be corrected, because the “Reversal of precedence” according to which priority may be reversed only if two conditions are both met and in the present case, the second condition (Art. 23.9.1.2.) is unrespected (ICZN, 1999)."
