- Holotype: AUZM, ♂, 28.03.2004, M. Rampini, C. Di Russo leg.
- Type locality: Greece, Kalymnos Isl., Pothia, Seven Virgins cave (Sanctuary of the Nimphs or Epta Parthenes cave).
- Etymology: The new species takes its name from the Calidnae Islands (Kalymnos, Leros and Telendos) cited by Homer in Iliad.
