- Holotype: BMNH 1949.2.2.2, subadult ♂, collected by Colonel R.H.R. Taylor on 20 April 1932.
- Type locality: “Haud [former British Somaliland, 08°20’N, 46°00’E at 2100 ft = 640 m] in northern Somalia”.
