Danio sysphigmatus Kullander, 2015

Holotype: NRM 65561. Paratypes: NRM 51642 (7); BMNH 2011.3.24:89-93 (5), 2011.3.25:1-4 (4); USNM 44802 (1).

Type locality: Mon state, Ale village at foot of Malwe mountain, Myanmar (ca. 15°07'43"N, 97°56'09"E).

Etymology: The species name sysphigmatus is an adjective based on the Greek adjective σύσφιγματoς, meaning chained, and refers to the chain-like colour pattern on the sides.
