Name

edit
  • Danio choprae Hora, 1928
    • acc. to Kullander (2012) must the species name be choprae and not choprai. Kullander stated: "...Notwithstanding, a change of ending of patronymic genitives only for reason of mismatch with the gender of the person from whose name the specific name is formed, is not permitted under the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (International Commission for Zoological Nomenclature, 1999), and thus the original spelling must be maintained. Alternatively, in accordance with Article 3.1.1 of the Code, Chopra may be considered as a latinized name, for which the natural Latin genitive ending would be Choprae, regardless of the gender of the bearer of the name."
