Name

Holotype: ZMMU R-12624; coll. Roman A. Nazarov May 04, 2005.
Type locality: Iran, Sistan-Baluchestan Province, 100 km NW from Iranshehr, near Bazman. 27°52’ N 60°06’ E, 1060 m elevation.
Etymology: Named after Dr Michael Leonidovich Golubev (1947-2005), a Russian herpetologist who emigrated from Russia in the 1990s to work at the University of California, Davis and subsequently in Seattle. He co-wrote Gecko Fauna of the USSR and Contiguous Regions (1996).
