Cumbaaichthys Murray, 2016

Etymology: The generic name is in honour of Stephen L. Cumbaa, for his significant contribution to our understanding of the Canadian fossil ichthyofauna through his field work, including at Lac des Bois, and publications on vertebrates including fishes and faunas of Canada. The ending, ichthys, is Greek for fish.
