Holotype: UMZC 2014.10 left pterygoid tooth plate preserved as a natural mould.
Type locality: Loose block from Ballagan Formation, foreshore north of Heads of Ayr, Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland.
Etymology: In honour of Robert Clack, the collector of the holotype.
