  • Holotype: UTA R-6258, adult ♂, collected by J.A. Campbell and B.L. Armstrong on 23 July 1973.
  • Type locality: “Rancho San Francisco, 1.5 mi NW Tapalpa, Jalisco, Mexico, elevation 2103 m”.
  • Etymology: Named after Barry L. Armstrong.
