- Type locality: AUSTRALIA: NSW: 3 km NE Harrington; littoral rainfor.
- Holotype: AM, ♂, G. Williams 21 Feb. 1992.
- Etymology: The specific name ‘reduced’ refers both to the small body size and the simplified structure of the male genitalia representing an extreme stage of reduction within Cyphon.
