  • Holotype: USNM. [lost fide Smith & Taylor (1945: 41)]
  • Neotype: BYU 13793, ♂, collected by W.W. Tanner & W.G. Robinson, Jr. on 5 September 1957. [designated by Tanner & Robinson (1960: 60)]
  • Type locality: “Guadalaxara [=Guadalajara], Mexico”, redesigned by neotype designation to “7.5 miles north of Magdalena, northwestern Jalisco, Mexico”, by Tanner & Robinson (1960: 60).
