- Holotype: CASIZ 173204, collected by D. Clague, ROV ‘Tiburon’, dive T664 from RV ‘Western Flyer’ on 2 May 2004.
- Type locality: “San Juan Seamount, S. California, 33.1323ºN, 120.9043ºW (within Eclusive Economic Zone of USA), 1446m”.
