• Holotype: FMNH 18690, adult ♂, collected by W.H. Osgood and S.G. Jewett on 18 February 1911.
• Type locality: “Paramo de Tama, head of Tachira River, Santander [= Norte de Santander], Colombia. Alt. 6,000– 7,000 ft.”
