- Holotype: AMG P1154 [ex NMP 1408, Natal Parks Bd. 193/1].
- Paratypes (19): (orig. Natal Parks Bd 193/1, 201/1-16, 131/1, and RU) AMG P886 (1); SAIAB [formerly RUSI] (1, not found).
Type locality: Concrete wall of Pongola River barrage, 27°23'S, 31°30'E [1], Natal, South Africa, elevation about 1000 feet.
Etymology: The specific name paratus is the Latin word for prepared or equipped, an refers, acc. to the author, through his family motto, to Mr. T. G. Fraser whose enthusiastic efforts have brought in much useful material.
