Name

Chiloglanis niger Roberts, 1989

• Holotype: CAS 60809.
• Paratypes: CAS 60810 (7).

Type locality: Menchum River below waterfall near Befang [1], Bamenda highlands, Niger River basin, Cameroon, western Africa.

Etymology: The specific epithet niger from the Latin for black, refers to the Niger basin as well as to the color in life.
