  • Paratypes: (3) SMF PO 91678-91680, otoliths.

Type locality and horizon: Gabon, Ewongue 4, 158 m, Mandorové FM, Miocene, Serravallian to Early Tortonian.

Etymology: Gerund form of fritinnire (Latin) (= chirp, tweet), referring to the small size of the species and its eye-catching intermediate morphology between the families Cepolidae and Owstoniidae.
