Name

Careproctus phasma Gilbert, 1896

• Lectotype: USNM 48064.
• Paralectotype: SU 3028 (1).

Type locality: Bristol Bay, Alaska, Albatross station 3254, 56.83°N, 164.46°W, depth 84 m.

Etymology: The specific epithet is taken from the Greek phasma (ϕάσμα), meaning “specter”, “ghost”, or “apparition”.
