- Type locality: MADAGASCAR: Antsiranana: Réserve Spéciale d’Ambre, 3.5 km 235°SW Sakaramy, 12°28'08"S, 49°14'32"E, 325 m a.s.l., leg. Fisher-Griswold Arthropod Team, 26–31.I.2001 (sifted litter, tropical dry forest).
- Etymology: A patronym in honour of Charles Griswold, one of the collectors of the types, in recognition of his vast and significant collections of spiders on Madagascar.
