Caffrogobius tutus Schwarzhans, 2013

  • Holotype: SMF PO 91683, Otolith.
  • Paratypes: (5) SMF PO 91684-91688, otoliths.

Type locality and horizon: Gabon, Ewongue 10, 70 m, Mandorové FM, Miocene, Serravallian to Early Tortonian.

Etymology: From tutus (Latin) (= confident, secure), referring to the relationship to the genus Caffrogobius.
