Name
editBruchus Linnaeus, 1767: 604 [conserved name]
Type species: Bruchus pisi Linnaeus, 1767 [= Dermestes pisorum Linnaeus, 1758], by subsequent designation by Latreille, 1810: 430.
Placed on the Official List of Generic Names in Zoology by Opinion 1809.
Synonyms
edit- Mylabris Geoffroy, 1762: 266 [suppressed name] [syn.: Pope, 1956]
- Laria Scopoli, 1763: 21 [syn.: Pope, 1956]
- Type species: Laria salicis Scopoli, 1763 [= Dermestes pisorum Linnaeus, 1758], by subsequent designation by Pierce, 1916: 463. [Note: Pierce, 1916 misquotes Bedel, 1901 as having designated the type species. Bridwell, 1932: 104 designates Laria dulcamarae Scopoli, 1763 (now Pria dulcamarae) as the type species to remove Laria from synonymy, but this designation cannot be considered valid as it was published later than Pierce, 1916.]
- Placed on the Official Index of Rejected and Invalid Generic Names in Zoology by Opinion 1809.
- Acanthobruchus Yus Ramos, 1978: 317 (as subgenus)
- Type species: Bruchus venustus Fåhraeus, 1839, by original designation.
- Bruchoides Yus Ramos, 1978: 317 (as subgenus)
