Brachycephalus boticario Pie, Bornschein, Firkowski, Belmonte-Lopes & Ribeiro, 2015: 26, figs. 14, 15

  • Type locality: BRAZIL: Morro do Cachorro (26°46′42″S, 49°01′57″W; 795 m a.s.l.), on the border between the municipalities of Blumenau, Gaspar, and Luiz Alves, state of Santa Catarina, southern Brazil.
  • Holotype: DZUP 440 (Fig. 14), adult male; 29 October 2012 by MRP and LFR.
  • Etymology: The specific epithet is a homage to the Fundação Grupo Boticário de Proteção à Natureza, which not only partially funded the fieldwork of this study, but also is a major contributor to conservation research in Brazil.
