- Holotype: Natural Resources Canada, Canadian Forest Service, Laurentian Forestry Centre, René Martineau Insectarium, Québec City, Quebec, Canada, ♀, 13.VI.2007, 5 m, pitfall trap, site dominated by Carex and grasses with presence of willows (ATOR) – alluvial fan, D.G. Reid.
- Etymology: Named for the type locality, Herschel Island.
- Status: invalid [synonym of Boreophilia vega; synonym in Klimaszewski et al. 2019: 67]
