edit- Notaphus gameani Jeannel, 1962
- Authority for synonymy: Lindroth, 1976: 197 ('New synonymy')
- Primary type: holotype
- Fixation: unique
- Description: adult female
- Repository: MNHN
- Type locality (interpreted): Auckland Islands?
- NOTE: According to Johns (1974: 300), 'Jeannel gave no description or figure when he raised this new name which is therefore invalid [unavailable]'. Johns (loc. cit.) also doubts that Jeannel's specimen really came from the Auckland Islands. Subsequent authorities (Lindroth (1976), Larochelle & Larivière (2001)) have not mentioned Johns's (1974) comments, and have accepted the availability of the name Notaphus gameani, and the correctness of the stated type locality. I haven't seen the publication by Jeannel (1962), but apparently the name Notaphus gameani was made available in a key (Wolfgang Lorenz, pers. comm.)
