- Type locality: VENEZUELA: Aragua, Rancho Grande, Pico la Guacamaya, 1950 m.
- Holotype: Temporarily in my collection, Monteforte d’Alpone, Verona, Italy, ♂, 1.VIII.1999, sobre flores de Dyctiocaryum sp., leg. H. Escalona.
- Etymology: The species is dedicated to Carlo Bordon of Trieste, a Curculionidae specialist and biospeleologist, who now lives in Maracay, Venezuela.
