Type locality: Weddell Sea, station PS82/129-1, 75°21,47'S, 27°44,57'W, bottom trawl, depth 372 m.

Etymology: The specific epithet refers to the extremely long mental barbel (Latin: longus, long; barba, beard), among the longest of any artedidraconid.
