Name

Apterichtus australis McCosker & Randall, 2005

• Holotype: BPBM 12306.
• Paratypes: BPBM 11842 (1), 16506 (2), 16896 (2), 30548 (2), 39455 (3); CAS 219463 (1); USNM 376606 (1); ZMUC P32853 (1).

Type locality: Off Hiri Bay, 27°36'S, 144°18'W, Rapa, depth 30 meters.

Etymology: australis from southern, referring to distribution in South Pacific (Rapa, Pitcairn, Easter and Kermadec islands), (from The ETYFish Project).
