Apistogramma aguarico Römer & Hahn, 2013

  • Holotype: FMNH 101588.
  • Paratypes (8): FMNH 117725 (1, 2), 117726 (2, 2); MTD F 32379 (1).

Type locality: Ecuador, río Napo system, laguna connected to río Lagartococha, approx. 09°47′S, 75°57′W [sic!]??? [1], about 25 km upstream from confluence with río Aguarico (maybe [2]), field station DJS83-63.

Etymology: The specific name aguarico refers to the type locality being situated in the río Aguarico system.
