Name

edit

Antheraea roylei Moore, 1859

NOTE: By virtue of the ICZN Opinion cited below, any taxonomist who considers the wild moth (pernyi) and the domestic moth (roylei) to be conspecific must use the name pernyi. If the two taxa are not considered synonyms, then roylei is a valid taxon name, and spelled roylei rather than roylii.

Synonyms

edit

Antheraea roylii Moore, 1859 (Incorrect Original Spelling; nomen oblitum because it was not in prevailing usage)
