Ancistrus caucanus Fowler, 1943

  • Holotype: ANSP 70516.

Type locality: [originally: Sonsón, Cauca River basin, Colombia, but see Taphorn et al. (2913)] Magdalena River drainage, Colombia.

Etymology: The specific epithet caucanus refers to the Cauca River, where the types were thought to be from.
