Alburnoides parhami Mousavi-Sabet et al., 2015

  • Holotype: VMFC ALP3-H.
  • Paratypes: VMFC ALP3-P1 - ALP3-P45 (45); GUIC ALP3-P1 - ALP3-P4 (4).

Type locality: Iran, Khorasan-e-Shomali Province, Baba-Aman Stream, Atrak River drainage, the south-eastern Caspian Sea basin, 37°29' N, 57°26' E.

Etymology: The species name parhami is generally in honor of all the Iranian conservative officers who sacrificed their lives in order to keep the wild environment, and especially for Mr. Saeid Parham (1980 – 2009), the conservative officer in Khorasan-e-Shomali Province, who was killed in a battle with illegal hunters near the type locality of Alburnoides parhami (near the border of Turkmenistan).
