Holotype: BMNH 19.2.7.45, adult ♀, skin and skull.

Type locality: “Otro Cerro” Catamarca Prov., Argentina (= Otro Cerro, 28°45′S, 66°17′W, 2,023 m, Capayán, Catamarca, about 4 km SSE of Cerro Catalán clarified by Pardiñas et al. 2007).

  • Bolomys negrito Thomas, 1926: 312 [synonymised by Cabrera, 1961]

Holotype: BMNH 25.12.13.39, adult ♂, skin and skull.

Type locality: “Las Paras [= Las Pavas], about 4000 m” Tucumán Prov., Argentina.
