- Holotype: UALVP 47133; a complete, articulated fish.
Type locality and horizon: Northwestern margin of Kem-Kem Plateau near Agoult, southeastern Morocco. Probably early Turonian, possibly late Cenomanian.
Etymology: The specific epithet honours Dr. Brian D.E. Chatterton.
