Shameless canvassing... edit

Hey, if you could pop over to Wikispecies:Village Pump#Email sent with new talk page edits, I'd appreciate it. I'd like to get this feature activated for Wikispecies, but I need a wider sampling before presenting it to the devs. (of course, if you don't think it's a wise idea, please say so; I want the feature, but not if everyone else hates it) Thanks! (sorry for contacting you completely out of the blue, but I saw that you're an active editor around here, so I wanted your feedback)

Formatting edit

Hello, thanks for creating large amounts of articles. I would like to point out that Vernacular names section is placed after Reference section, not the other way around (see Help:General Wikispecies. OhanaUnitedTalk page 01:02, 22 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Marking pages for deletion edit

Hello, if you want to have an article deleted simply add the template {{delete|add reason for deleting}} to the page you want deleted. This will add it to the category Category:Candidates for speedy deletion and an admin will delete it eventually --Open2universe | Talk 14:14, 23 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Requested articles edit

The bot is currently down for maintenance. Next time please don't include nowiki syntax. The formatting with nowiki syntax is purely done to show example of how it's done. OhanaUnitedTalk page 16:23, 23 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

About Kurtamia edit

Hi there. A gave a reference to Kurtamia for Zoobank. But that site has since relocated to organismnames. So here is a new reference:

http://www.organismnames.com/query.htm?q=Kurtamia&searchType=simple&so=a0

and from that page:

"Original Description Reference A new genus of cardinalfishes (Perciformes: Apogonidae) from the southern China sea, with discussion of the relationships between the families Apogonidae and Kurtidae. Voprosy Ikhtiologii 46(3), May-June 2006: 293-305. Zoological Record Volume 142"

Also see:

http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/pages/item.php?news=919

So I think it is a valid genus placed in the family Apogonidae. Isfisk 11:20, 2 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Removing non-existent species edit

If an article exists for non-existent species eg. Delphinium dictyocarpum, Delphinus tropicalis and you remove it from the listing then you leave orphaned articles. Special:LonelyPages

Could you either mark them for deletion or if they are a synonym of an existing species, could you create the redirect? Thanks. --Open2universe | Talk 02:48, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

marking an article for deletion edit

To ask for an article to be deleted add {{delete|reason for deleting}} to the page you wish to delete. See Template:Delete for more information --Open2universe | Talk 14:01, 12 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
