Welcome to Wikispecies!

Hello, and welcome to Wikispecies! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

If you have named a taxon, then it is likely that there is (or will be) a Wikispecies page about you, and other pages about your published papers. Please see our advice and guidance for taxon authors.

If you have useful images to contribute to Wikispecies, please upload them at Wikimedia Commons. This is also true for video or audio files containing bird songs, whale vocalization, etc.

Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username (if you're logged in) and the date. Please also read the Wikispecies policy What Wikispecies is not. If you need help, ask me on my talk page, or in the Village Pump. Again, welcome!

Vertebrate taxonomy

edit

Please discuss major taxonomical changes (I admit there are problems on this issue), in the village pump before adjusting it. Changing these higher levels can mess up a lot at lower levels. Try to get consesus first please. -- Lycaon 16:16, 12 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

As stated above: changes in higher levels could severely disrupt taxonomy on lower levels. I do not 'reject' your changes, I just think they should be thoroughly discussed first. I know it's a bit confusing at the moment (not to say incorrect and a mess), but if you just touch a few pages and leave the lower levels as is, you may create an even worse situation. I suggest you set up an alternative for discussion on your user page. And lastly, don't be discouraged, we appreciate your contributions, as vertebrate is definitely not ok at the moment.
