Ctenopharyngodon idellus

Body stout and elongated. Dorsal and ventral profile equally arched. Head broad with short rounded snout. Mouth sub terminal, upper jaw slightly protractile. Dorsal fin inserted slightly nearer to snout-tip than to base of caudal fin. Pectoral fin fairly small. Caudal fin forked. Scale moderate size. Dark gray above, silvery on flanks and belly, base of each fin dark brown. Fins dark.

Amblypharyngodon mola

Body elongated. Eyes large. Scales small. Golden yellow with a broad silvery lateral band, Dorsal, anal and caudal fins with dark markings, pectoral fin and pelvic fin hyaline.

Danio aequipinnatus

A small deep-bodied fish identified by its wing-like pectoral and elongated knife-like pelvic fin. Silvery body with a blue or green gloss and steel blue stripes. A dark lateral band runs over the entire length of the body terminating in a gold-bordered eyespot at the base of the tail. A golden band runs above the dark lateral band from behind the gill cover. At the origin of this band, there is another eye-spot (right behind the gill cover). Fins yellow-orange.

Barilius evezardi

Body shallow. Mouth moderate, jaws short, lower jaw with well developed symphysial process. Maxilla reaches to below front edge of orbit. No barbels. Dorsal fin inserted in advance of anal fin, its posterior half above anal fin. Color in life body silvery, brown tint along the back, lateral burnished silvery band on flanks. Dorsal, anal and caudal fin orange. Dorsal and caudal fin edged with black.

Barilius bendelisis

Small silvery fish with a slender body and 8-12 lateral bands. Back darker than sides. Fins yellowish to brown. Dorsal fin inserted closer to the tail than to the snout. Maxilla extends to below anterior third of orbit, dorsal fin inserted entirely in advance of anal fin, nearer to base of caudal fin than to snout tip. Rostral barbel reduced or absent.
