Welcome to Wikispecies!

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikispecies! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

If you have named a taxon, then it is likely that there is (or will be) a Wikispecies page about you, and other pages about your published papers. Please see our advice and guidance for taxon authors.

If you have useful images to contribute to Wikispecies, please upload them at Wikimedia Commons. This is also true for video or audio files containing bird songs, whale vocalization, etc.

Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username (if you're logged in) and the date. Please also read the Wikispecies policy What Wikispecies is not. If you need help, ask me on my talk page, or in the Village Pump. Again, welcome! -- Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:36, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Creating huge number of redirects for a single page

edit

@Ilawa-Kataka Hi, I see you keep creating lots of redirects which all go to one page. Why? I hope you know what you are doing. If not, all will be removed. -- Tumbuka Arch 17:08, 19 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

These are synonyms of that genus, and I have checked that they are not homonyms. It has a lot of synonyms. Is there another way this should be handled? Ilawa-Kataka (talk) 17:11, 19 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Templates and authors

edit

Thank you for all your good contributions.

When you create a template about a paper, such as Template:Morlet, 1885, please add it to the page about the author, as I did at Laurent-Joseph Morlet. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:06, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, I will do that from now on. If there is any other way I can improve my editing, just let me know. Ilawa-Kataka (talk) 19:29, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
