If you have named a taxon, then it is likely that there is (or will be) a Wikispecies page about you, and other pages about your published papers. Please see our advice and guidance for taxon authors.

If you have useful images to contribute to Wikispecies, please upload them at Wikimedia Commons. This is also true for video or audio files containing bird songs, whale vocalization, etc.

Sonja Wedmann

edit

Hello. Do you have a reference confirming 1970 as the year of birth for Sonja Wedmann? Thanks. –Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 01:34, 12 September 2019 (UTC).Reply

Well not exactly, but according to her vita she began studying biologie in 1988 so she could be born in 1970. I changed it in the article about her. Maybe it fits better now. If not you are free to delete it and it will remain open. --Bodhi-Baum (talk) 07:13, 12 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
From where did you originally get the data about 1970? Wouldn't that be a verifiable source? This is a scientific database, mind you, so we need to have the facts straight...   Kind regards, Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 19:17, 12 September 2019 (UTC).Reply
I just supposted she was born in 1970 because here in germany you normally get your abitur at the age of 18. Since she started studying biology in 1988 that could be the accurat year of birth.--Bodhi-Baum (talk) 19:23, 12 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
I see. The same is true here in Sweden, where we normally get our high school graduation at the age of 18 (but in some cases 17 or 19, depending on different specializations within the high school system we may chose). Hence I agree that 1970 seems like a very good guess, however we can't be sure. For example, some people chose to take one or more sabbatical years ("Sabbatjahr") after high school, perhaps to work a year or two before commencing any higher education. I've therefore deleted the information about her year of birth, at least for now. Also, from a taxonomical viewpoint her year of birth is really only important if we need to disambiguate her authorship of taxa or publications from another (paleo)entomologist named Sonja Wedmann, and it seems she's the only one... –Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 20:15, 12 September 2019 (UTC).Reply
Ok then, maybe there will show up further information about her so that some biographical data can be added. --Bodhi-Baum (talk) 20:22, 12 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
