Holotype: IEBR-100H, ♂. Coll. Nguyen Duc Anh, 11 Mar.2006 – 9 Apr.2006.
Type locality: Kon Tum Province, Dak Glei District, Ngoc Linh Mountain (15°00'–15°18'N, 107°41'–08°01'E), primary forest, 1800–1900 m a.s.l.
Etymology: phanluongi, named in honour of Dr. Phan Luong of the Vietnamese-Russian Tropical Center for his major contribution to the ecological surveys in Vietnam.
