- Type locality: Dong Men Zhuang, Shuangluo Village, Sanli Town, Shanglin County, Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang. Autonomous Region.
- Etymology: The species name is from the Latin word “auriculatum”, meaning “auriculate” or ear-shaped, alluding to the shape of the elliptical dorsal lobe of the distal segment of the G1.
