Rhynchobatus palpebratus Compagno & Last, 2008

  • Holotype: CSIRO H 3384-01.
  • Paratypes: CSIRO C 2291 (1), CA 2373 (1), H 2376-08 (1), H 3322-01 (1), H 3340-01 (1), H 4297-01 (1).

Type locality: Northwest of Wessel Islands, Arafura Sea, Northern Territory, Australia, 10°11'S, 137°17'E, depth 50 meters.

Etymology: palpebra (= eyelid), referring to dark, eyebrow-like marking on suborbital membrane. (From: The ETYFishproject)
