Type locality: Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa,south western Indian Ocean, depth 45 fathoms.
Etymology: holkos (= furrow, grove or track); rhynchos (= snout or rostrum), presumably referring to widely separated rostral ridge. (From: The ETYFish project)
