Type locality: Challenger station 78. Azores, between San Miguel Island and Santa Maria Island. 37°26′00″N 25°13′00″W / 37.433333°N 25.216667°W / 37.433333; -25.216667. Depth 1000 fms.

Holotype: BMNH 1890.5.7.106 [1].
