• Formula hybridae: Pityrogramma austroamericana × Pityrogramma calomelanos
• Typus: Oahu. Kaneohe, Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden. On hillside above Loho Wainaluhia Reservoir. Extremely abundant, with parents. March 1987. Wagner 87173 (Holotype: MICH).
