• Type locality: Valley of Toshibetsu-gawa, about 800 m west of Omagari, Toshibetsu-mura, Setana-gun, Hokkaido, Japan.
• Type horizon: Setana Formation, Upper Pliocene, Neogene, Tertiary, Cenozoic.
