Type locality

Late Oligocene, Pysht Formation; UWBM locations A4770 & B3202, a coastal exposure about 2.4 km west of the mouth of Deep Creek at the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Clallam County, Washington (approximately 48" 11 'N, 124" 3' W).
