- Type locality: Roadcut at 1651.5 km of Road 9, between Salta and Jujuy cities, Sierra de Mojotoro, Province of Jujuy, Cordillera Oriental, Northwest Argentina.
- Type horizon: Lower levels of the Floresta Formation, early late Tremadocian, estimated age of lifetime for this species: around 485,000,000 years ago, Ordovician, Palaeozoic.
