Type locality: Glasenbach Gorge, Austria; Hauptknollenbrekzie, late Sinemurian to early Pliensbachian, Early Jurassic.

Paratypes: NHMW 2012/0137/0014 and NHMW 2012/0137/0015.

Etymology: from Latin mirus (astonishing).
