Type locality: North Atlantic Ocean, U.S.A., Georgia, 30°58′30″N 79°38′30″W / 30.975°N 79.6417°W / 30.975; -79.6417, Albatross R/V station 2668, 5 May 1886, depth 538 m.

Holotype: USNM 18425 [1].
