Holotype: NSMT Cr-18241, ♀, dissected and mounted on three glass slides, 14 March 2002.
Type locality: Kashima-gawa River estuary (33° 06' 37” N, 130° 04’ 13” E) in Ariake Bay, Kyushu, Japan. The salinity was 2 psu.
Etymology: The specific epithet refers to the locality, to which the species is considered endemic.
